How it started

From one bench to a team of vans

Fix My Appliance began as a small repair bench in Dubai, taking in washing machines and fridges that the local dealers had written off. Most of them were not finished. They needed a bearing, a board or an element, and somebody willing to spend an hour finding out which.

That bench work still shapes how the company works. Somebody who has repaired a control board knows what to test before he replaces one, and knows which tests tell him nothing. The bench is still there. Twelve years on, the same habit runs through a team covering homes across the Emirates.

Growth changed the logistics rather than the method. We added vans, stocked them with the components that fail most often, and built a service record for every appliance we touch. The engineer still opens the machine, tests it, then tells you what he found before he quotes.

What the bench does that a van cannot

Most jobs finish in your kitchen. A few need equipment that does not travel, and those are the jobs that decide whether an appliance gets repaired or written off.

Board level diagnosis

A failed control board usually has one failed component on it. Boards are repairable. We trace the fault to that component, replace it, and the repair then costs a fraction of a new board while keeping an older machine running.

Sealed system work

Refrigeration circuits have to be recovered, repaired and recharged with the right gas at the right weight. That needs recovery equipment and a set of scales, so the unit comes to the bench rather than the bench going to the unit.

Parts matching

Model numbers change part specifications mid production run, which is why two machines carrying the same name on the door can take two different pumps. We read the rating plate. The right component then arrives the first time.

Who walks into your home

A repair visit means letting a stranger into your kitchen while your family is there. We take that seriously, and the standard applies to every technician on the road.

Each one is screened before he starts, wears the company uniform and carries an identity card you can check at the door. He works on the brands sold in this market. He knows the model on sight, and he knows where that maker puts the service access.

  • Background checked before the first job
  • Uniformed and carrying a company identity card
  • Trained on the appliance brands common in UAE homes
  • Works to the same quote and approval rule on every visit
  • Leaves the work area clean before he packs up

Anyone arriving without an identity card should be sent away. Call our helpline instead. That rule protects you and it protects us.

Our standards

Four rules we do not bend

Households rarely complain about the repair. They complain about the price moving, the technician arriving late or nobody explaining what failed. These four rules exist because of that.

  1. You hear the price before we open the machine

Diagnosis comes first and the quote comes second. The figure covers parts and labour together, and it does not move once you have approved it. A second fault found behind the first gets priced on its own rather than folded into the bill.

  2. We name the component, not the symptom

You are told which part failed and why, in words you can repeat to somebody else. Ask to see the old part and it goes in your hand before it leaves the house.

  3. The warranty goes in writing

Each finished job carries a warranty period on our labour and on the part we supplied, printed on the service sheet. A spoken promise is worth nothing when the same fault returns.

  4. We tell you when not to book us

If your appliance is still inside the maker's warranty, or the repair costs more than the machine is worth, we say so. A job we turn down costs us one visit. A customer who feels oversold costs us the household.

Where we work

Where our technicians work each day

Teams run out of Dubai and cover the northern Emirates daily. Most Dubai bookings taken early in the day get a same day slot, and the other Emirates are usually covered the next working day.

Dubai

Our heaviest coverage runs across the residential communities. That means the apartment towers in Dubai Marina, Business Bay and Jumeirah Village Circle, and the villa communities at Arabian Ranches, Al Khawaneej and Nad Al Sheba.

Across the Emirates

Beyond Dubai our vans run into Sharjah and Ajman daily, and into Abu Dhabi on scheduled days. Tell our coordinator your area when you book and he will confirm the next slot for it.

Where we fall short: the far northern Emirates run on scheduled days rather than same day cover, so a Fujairah or Ras Al Khaimah booking waits longer than a Dubai one. Our coordinator gives you the real date. We would rather lose the job than miss it.
